How do I define iSeries screens to be recognized by my application?

Before you add event(s) to your application, you must define the screen(s), for which the event(s) are to be created. First, click [define new screen...]. Give the screen definition a name, and optionally type in some notes describing the screen.

Then you should specify the constant text, along with its screen coordinates, that uniquely identifies the screen.

Often, the text that uniquely identifies the screen is the screen's heading. Also, on many systems, the iSeries program name or the display file name is shown on each screen. These elements can be used to uniquely identify the screen.

You can specify one or many entries that are unique to the screen. For each entry, specify the row, the column, and the text. Then click Save. Instead of manually keying in the row and column, you may click on the row or column on the preview pane.

The preview pane will display your entries in their appropriate positions. This will be a way for you to double-check that you have entered the entries correctly.
